Peter has combined a career in commercial/corporate banking with extensive experience in senior human resource management roles in large corporate environments, in Brisbane and Melbourne.  For the past decade, Peter has applied this hands-on experience base to senior executive recruitment and search assignments, initially with boutique executive recruitment and search firm, First Place International, as General Manager from 2002, before joining Talent2 as part of the acquisition of First Place International in July 2011.

The First Place acquisition enabled Talent2 to employ the capability and network of its two key Consultants - Peter and Louise Baker - in establishingTalent Partners Queensland, the retained executive search arm of the Talent2 Group. This practice broadened Talent Partners' presence beyond its existing markets of Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. Peter has assumed the role of Practice Leader for Talent Partners Queensland.

Peter's career comprises ten years in commercial/corporate banking, 14 years in senior human resource management roles, and the past decade in senior executive recruitment and search. Originally from Queensland, Peter returned home in 1995 as Head of HR Queensland for NAB, after 9 years in HR Strategy, HR Business Partner and Corporate Relationship Manager roles in NAB's Head Office in Melbourne. Four years later, he returned to Melbourne as Head of HR for the 15000 employee Australian Retailers business of NAB, leading a national team of 70, before being drawn back to Queensland to lead Suncorp Metway's HR Strategy and HR Consulting teams in 2001/02.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Business (Human Resource Management) from Victoria College (now Deakin University), during which he received the Australian Institute of Management's prize for Best Final Year Student.

Peter is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, Certified Professional of the Australian Human Resources Institute, past Presidents of the International House Brisbane Students' Club, NAB Cricket Club Victoria and St Peters Water Polo Club, a past Director of the Sherwood Junior AFL Club, and a current Director of the International House Foundation.

Peter's career has instilled in him a clear appreciation of the absolute importance of strong client relationships and a deep commitment to the value which the right people, appropriately focussed and resourced, can deliver to any business. His approach to all assignments is fundamentally driven by these values.
