Brian Ashton

New Zealand CEO, Wellington

Brian has spent the last ten years working in executive leadership roles in large media and manufacturing companies.  His background has seen him gain extensive experience in profit and loss responsibilities, strategic sourcing, business change, information technology, industrial reform and business restructuring.

In the role of Talent2's CEO New Zealand since 2011, Brian applies his background to the overall financial performance and growth of the New Zealand businesses.

In his last role as Chief Operating Office for PMP Limited, Brian undertook a large organisation wide restructuring project looking at everything from sales to procurement.  In an earlier role at PMP as Managing Director - NSW and Queensland he managed to add significant growth to a business that had previously been languishing. This recovery was achieved by reinvigorating and rebuilding the sales force, offering both new sales incentives and go to market strategies along with stronger operational performance.  When he worked at John Fairfax Ltd as their Group Operations and Strategic Sourcing Director he oversaw all plant operations and procurement activity across Australia. He produced a large scale cost reduction programme, completed some large scale capital investment and initiated substantial industrial negotiations to produce improved operational and financial results.

At Massey University in New Zealand, Brian completed his Diploma Horticulture, Diploma Business Studies, Bachelor of Social Sciences, and partially completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance.

When not working you'll find Brian either buried in a good book, out cycling and enjoying general fitness activities, tinkering with computers, or enjoying good wine and food, preferably together.

Brian connects with his people by making time to be amongst them and at all times approachable. He sees these connections as key to instilling a culture of trust and confidence amongst the team and ensuring that everyone enjoys what they do.
