Amanda O'Rourke
Amanda O’Rourke is a graduate of Macquarie University where she majored in education, the behavioural sciences and media with post graduate qualifications in research methods.
Amanda has outstanding credentials to offer in terms of her understanding and knowledge of the executive marketplace, relevant government and private sector experience at a senior level, as well as her expertise in executive search in successfully filling senior positions on a global level.
Amanda commenced in the Australian Public Service in 1983, and worked in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, The Treasury, and most recently in the Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General. She has also worked with the National Library of Australia and the higher education sector at the Australian National University.
Amanda’s career has encompassed both public and private sector roles with a particular focus on machinery of government issues, parliamentary and legislative processes, constitutional matters, government advertising campaigns, and whole-of-government arrangements following domestic and international disasters.
Prior to joining Talent Partners Hansen & Searson, Amanda was Director of the Australian Honours Secretariat at Government House responsible for implementing organisational strategy and development initiatives, performance management, redesign of IT systems, corporate governance, and workforce planning.
In this role, Amanda played a key role in developing links between the Federal, State and Territory governments and academia, research institutes, professional associations and peak community organisations and representatives. She also oversaw major changes to the independent honours system leading to international recognition of its high standing, probity and integrity.
Amanda joined Talent Partners Hansen & Searson as a consultant in October 2006.
