James has been a leading legal recruiter in the Tokyo market for over eight years primarily serving the legal and compliance needs of financial institutions. James focuses exclusively on legal recruiting and on the hands-on delivery of high profile and difficult to fill legal and compliance search assignments. In the 2005, 2006 and 2007 AsiaMoney Head-hunters Poll he was named the best Middle Office/Legal Recruiter in Tokyo. To date, James has assisted in the recruitment of more General Counsels and Partners than anyone else in Tokyo. James has an MBA Finance degree from the International University of Japan as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees from Bishop’s University and McGill University in Quebec. James has resided in Japan for close to 15 years, is married to a Japanese national, has a home in the mountains of Niigata-ken but works in Tokyo.

Hiroshi joined the recruiting industry at the end of 2004 as a legal recruiter. He has placed a number of senior legal and compliance officers into various financial institutions as well as Bengoshi (Japanese qualified lawyers) into law firms based in Tokyo. His long-term commitment to both clients and candidates is generating excellent value-add for all parties involved for successful hires. Hiroshi, together with James, specializes in the recruiting of mid to senior level Bengoshi and legal officers to financial institutions and law firms. He also focuses on compliance officers for financial institutions. Tomoe began her career in recruiting in 2006 in Tokyo working with James and Hiroshi focusing on corporate legal roles at multi-national corporations, documentation and compliance recruitment at financial institutions, paralegal and junior legal roles at law firms. She has successfully assisted on several high-level, difficult-to-fill searches with James and Hiroshi. She brings tenacity to her work that her colleagues respect and rely on her for. As she is always striving to work more efficiently, Tomoe leads by example and is responsible for training all internal Resourcers. Tomoe holds BA in International Relations and Politics from Scripps College in Claremont, California. She is half Japanese and Chinese, and has lived in Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Boston. In his previous company, Masahiro completed a number of senior placements in various industries and was nominated by his peers for the Asia Consultant of Year award in 2006. Prior to his career in executive search, Masahiro worked management reporting roles in the accounting department at Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL). Masahiro graduated from City University of New York with a M.A International Relations. He lived and studied in NYC for three years, gaining perspective on inter-cultural issues and improving his English skills.
